The first stairs to The Overthere
After the dark sections of The Underwhere, the exact opposite awaits you: The Overthere Stair consists of countless clouds that lead further and further into the sky.
Many of the clouds serve as normal platforms. Clouds with eye-catching button eyes, on the other hand, work like trampolines and throw you far up.
Luigi is especially helpful in this chapter. With his super jump you can reach numerous clouds directly and skip smaller detours. Switch to Mario as soon as you suspect a hidden path in the 3D view.
Work your way up through the first two stair sections. Use the mobile platforms, button-eye clouds and Luigi’s super jump.
Along the way you will find several question mark blocks with coins, mushrooms and flowers. However, pay attention to enemy zombie fungi that can jump out of individual blocks.
In the third staircase you reach a button-eye cloud on the right. Jump up with her. Right next to it is a door that you can ignore for the main path at first.
Instead, run left and climb over the brown blocks. Keep jumping from cloud to cloud until the path seems to end.
Switch to the 3D view with Mario. Behind the visible clouds and question mark blocks, a narrow path leads further into the background.
Follow the path and then switch back to the 2D view. Carefully drop from cloud to cloud.
Another cloud of button-eyes then hurls you up and left to the door leading into the fourth stairs.
The Red Apple and the Sleeping Princess Peach
In the fourth staircase, several cloud paths lead up. First, ignore the platforms next to the entrance and continue to the right.
Use the clouds and button-eye clouds there until you reach a door at the top. Enter them.
In the small side area stands a tree full of red apples. Stand under the tree and hit the trunk with Cudge. One of the apples then falls to the ground.
Take at least one Red Apple and keep it absolutely. You need it towards the end of the chapter. Use it neither as a healing object nor for Princess Peach.
Return to the fourth staircase and drop down to the left. Now climb above the clouds right next to the front door.
Use the mobile platform and jump to the cloud with the Save Block. Save your score and go through the nearby door.
There, Princess Peach lies under a tree and sleeps deeply and firmly. Next to her lies a bitten Golden Apple, which is apparently responsible for her condition.
Mario, Luigi, Bowser and Luvbi try unsuccessfully to wake Princess Peach. You need a special Apple to break the magic.
Don’t give Princess Peach the Red Apple. She wakes up briefly, but grows to a huge size and then falls asleep immediately.
Return through the door to the fourth stairs.
The Various Apples of The Overthere
Continue up with the movable platform. On the left you can open a chest with a mushroom mix.
On the right, a cloud of buttons leads to another fork. A sign indicates the location of an orange apple.
The different colored apples trigger different, but only temporary changes at Princess Peach:
Red Apple: Princess Peach gets huge and falls asleep again.
Blue Apple: Princess Peach shrinks to a tiny size.
Orange Apple: Princess Peach temporarily grows a mustache.
Pink Apple: Princess Peach briefly transforms into a Peachy Princess Peach.
Black Apple: Its terrible taste permanently wakes up Princess Peach.
For the solution, you need only the Black Apple. You can try the other fruits out of curiosity, but then you have to run to the right tree again.
Follow the main path to the right and walk through the door to the fifth stairs.
The Banned Black Apple
Directly to the left of the entrance of the fifth staircase is a door that you can only recognize in the 3D view. Behind it grows a tree with pink apples. This space is not necessary for the solution.
Switch back to Luigi and jump to the high cloud with his super jump.
One of the following doors leads into a room with several skeleton opponents. Enter the room, you must defeat all enemies before you are let out again. You can ignore this door for the direct path.
Instead, use the mobile platform and jump with Luigi on the cloud above.
Switch to the 3D view with Mario and follow the hidden path to the right. There appears a door that is not visible from the normal perspective.
Enter the next room. At the right end stands a dark tree with black apples.
Hit the tribe with Cudge and take a Black Apple.
Now return all the way to the fourth staircase and enter the room again with the sleeping Princess Peach.
Give them the Black Apple. Princess Peach wakes up screaming because the fruit tastes very bad. For this, the sleep magic is finally broken.
After the conversation, Princess Peach joins the group again. Your team of Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser is finally complete again.
With Princess Peach’s umbrella to the sixth staircase
Return to the fifth stairs. Jump up a cloud with Luigi and use the button-eye cloud on the left.
Continue climbing over the brown blocks. On the following platform you need Princess Peach again for the first time.
Jump with her and hold the jump button so she opens her screen. Glides to the right to the next button-eye cloud.
Use the following trampoline clouds to get further and further up. Run to the left on the highest platform and walk through the door to the sixth stairs.
The sixth staircase consists of movable platforms, small clouds and narrow columns. Luigi can once again overcome many of the great height differences with his super jump.
On the far left you will find a super mushroom. He immediately restores 20 strength points.
On a higher cloud, a curse opponent guards a chest with a long-term mix. After use, the object regenerates force points over a longer period of time.
Further to the right is another chest, which is guarded by two skeleton opponents. There is a Thunder Rage.
Then follow the moving platforms all the way up and walk through the door to the seventh stairs.
Cyrrus and the Red Apple
In the seventh stairs, jump first to the button-eye cloud on the left and then to the next cloud on the right.
Climb across the small platforms and use more trampoline clouds until you reach a larger floating platform.
Nearby you will find an optional chest with a Life Mushroom. This automatically revives you when your power points drop to zero.
A little further to the left is a small living cloud called Cyrrus. She dreams of becoming especially big and powerful.
Talk to Cyrrus and give him the Red Apple you collected on the fourth stairs.
The Apple makes Zyrrus grow tremendously. Then jump to the huge cloud.
Cyrrus hurls you up into the sky and straight to the top level of the Overthere Stair.
Did you accidentally use the Red Apple? Use the newly opened way back next to Cyrrus and return to the red apple tree on the fourth stairs. There you can beat another Apple from the tree at any time.
The Last Treasures and the Star Block
After the huge jump, you land at a large cloud temple. Below the building is the door to the last section.
Before you go through, you should collect the optional treasures.
On the roof of the building stands a chest with a gold bar. Use Luigi’s super jump to reach the elevated level.
In the last section you can also jump with Luigi on the roof above the star block. Then run all the way to the right and open the hidden chest with the zombie mushroom map.
Return to the main road and read the sign:
This is where the Overthere Stair ends. The Overthere is over there.
There is a particularly wide abyss before you. Switch to Princess Peach, jump off and slide safely to the right with her umbrella.
On the last cloud awaits the star block. Jump against it to close chapter 7-3.
With this you have completely climbed the Overthere Stair. In the next chapter you reach the heavenly kingdom – but that is where the attack from The Underwhere has already begun.
