All Bosses

Super Paper Mario guide hub

In Super Paper Mario you can expect numerous boss and intermediate boss fights. Some opponents compete several times and become stronger with each encounter. In addition, there are optional challenges such as Lohrack, Schatti and End Boss from the duel of the 100.

This overview shows you all the bosses in the order of their appearance, their values, the best character and a short strategy for the fight.

Note about the HP: Mimi, Fracktail, Big Blooper and Lohrack have no normal visible HP calculation. These opponents instead specify how many hits against their vulnerability are needed.

Chapter 1

O’Chunks – Chapter 1-3

HP: 20 attack: 1 Recommended equipment: Thoreau

O’Chunks jumps through the arena, performs tamping attacks and tries to grab and throw Mario.

Keep a little distance and wait until O’Chunks is on the ground after an attack. Take him up with Thoreau and hurl him through the arena. After the impact, it is briefly dazed.

Jumps once or twice on his head during this time. Repeat the expiration until its 20 HP is used up.

Fracktail – Chapter 1-4

Required Hits: 9 Attack: 1 Vulnerability: Antenna on the Head Recommended Equipment: Thoreau

Switch to the 3D view as soon as Fracktail flies close to the ground. Avoid his head and then jump on his back.

There appear small Kostos. Pick up a Kosto with Thoreau and throw it against the antenna on Fracktail’s head.

After each three hits, Fracktail flies a large ribbon. If possible, stay on his back and run to his head again. After nine antenna hits, the fight is won.

Chapter 2

Mimi – Chapter 2-4

Required hits: 6 successful head hits attack: 1 Recommended equipment: Thoreau

In the beginning, Mimi is protected by a barrier. Wait for the cutscene with the real Merlee before attacking.

Then pick up one of the red crystals with Thoreau and throw it at Mimi’s head. When Mimi falls off the blanket, throw another crystal at her or jump on her head.

After each complete hit, she loses one of her legs. Change to the 3D view during the crystal wave and run past the projectiles.

Chapter 3

Bowser – Chapter 3-1

HP: 20 Attack: 2 Defense: 1 Recommended Equipment: Boomer

Bowser has a barbed tank and therefore cannot be safely jumped on. Put Boomer in front of him and retreat.

Bowser partially ignites the bomb himself with his fire breath. Repeat the explosions a few times until he gives up and later joins the group.

Big Blooper – Chapter 3-2

Required hits: 3 hits against the red catch arm attack: 2 Recommended equipment: Thudley

Big Blooper attacks alternately with his tentacle arms. The ordinary blue arms do not cause actual boss damage.

Meet the blue catch arms until the red arm appears. Jump on it and use Thudley to cause additional damage.

After three successful hits against the red catch arm, Big Blooper is defeated.

Dimenzio – Chapter 3-3

HP: 30 attack: 2 Recommended character: Princess Peach

Dimenzio teleports through the arena, throwing magic bullets and creating a doppelganger. Only the real Dimenzio can be hurt.

Princess Peach can fend off his bullets with the umbrella. Attack Dimenzio immediately after a teleportation or while recharging his magic.

If you meet the real Dimenzio, the double disappears temporarily.

Francis – Chapter 3-4

HP: 40 Attack: 1 Recommended Figure: Bowser Recommended Pixl: Thoreau

Francis can make himself invisible, fire meow bombs, blind with his camera and swallow the hero.

Even in the invisible state, its shadow can be seen on the ground. Wait until he reappears and use Bowser’s fire breath.

Alternatively, you can shoot Francis with Thoreau, hurl against a wall and then attack with fire.

Chapter 4

Mr. L – Chapter 4-4

HP: 40 Attack: 3 Recommended Figure: Bowser

Mr. L uses high jumps, a supercharged jump and magic bullets. He can also cure himself with a mushroom.

Stay moving and wait until he lands after a jump attack. Then use Bowser’s fire breath.

Attack especially quickly as soon as Mr. L brings out a mushroom. This allows you to prevent him from restoring part of his HP.

Brobot – Chapter 4-4

HP: 255 Attack: 4 Defense: 3, Against Fire 6 Recommended Equipment: Squirps and Carrie

The fight takes place in space. Squirps serves as a board cannon and fires at the Brobot.

Hold the attack button as consistently as possible and avoid the energy balls, rockets and beams. With Carrie, you move faster through the arena.

Collect the passing chocolate bars. Depending on the paint, they temporarily improve your speed, firepower, defense or shell count.

Chapter 5

O’Chunks – Chapter 5-2

HP: 40 Attack: 2 Recommended Equipment: Thoreau

The second encounter basically works like the first fight. However, O’Chunks owns twice as many KPs and does higher damage.

Take him up with Thoreau, throw him to the ground and jump on his head while he is dazed.

O’Chunks under Florosapien control – Chapter 5-4

HP: 60 Attack: 3 Recommended Equipment: Thoreau

The controlled O’Chunks is faster and also uses a vertebral attack. During this attack, you should keep your distance.

Throw him with Thoreau as soon as he briefly stands still. Attack him only during his dizziness.

King Croacus IV – Chapter 5-4

HP: 50 Attack: 2 Recommended Figure: Princess Peach Recommended Pixl: Thoreau

In the first phase, King Croacus IV is protected by several heads or flowers. Take one of them with Thoreau and throw it against the king’s open head.

Later, King Croacus IV floats freely through the arena and hurls flower-shaped circular saws. Princess Peach can protect herself with her umbrella.

Wait until its flower opens, and jump on the visible head.

Chapter 6

Mimi – Chapter 6-2

HP: 25 Attack: 2 Recommended Character: Princess Peach Recommended Pixl: Thoreau

Mimi first appears in a disguise and attacks with red crystals after their exposure.

Princess Peach’s umbrella blocks the crystal waves. Take individual crystals with Thoreau and throw them against Mimi.

Switch to the 3D view with Mario when Mimi himself changes dimension.

Brobot L-type

HP: 64 Attack: 5 Defense: 4, against Fire 8 Recommended Figure: Princess Peach Recommended Pixl: Boomer

Brobot L-type is smaller than the original Brobot but has higher defense and stronger attacks.

Put Boomer right by his feet. Explosions are particularly effective against him.

Princess Peach can protect herself from fists, rockets and many other attacks with her umbrella. Run away as soon as Brobot L-type begins to suck in the air in front of him.

Chapter 7

Bowser – Chapter 7-2

HP: 80 Attack: 8 Defense: 2 Recommended Equipment: Cudge or Boomer

Bowser is considerably stronger in this encounter than in chapter 3. Its fire breath and tamping attacks cause great damage.

Don’t jump on him because of his barbed tank. Instead, attack from a safe distance with Cudge or Boomer.

Avoid the fire breath by running behind Bowser or switching to the 3D view in time.

Chainband – Chapter 7-2

HP: 16 per chain dog attack: 3 special features: turn-based combat

The chain gang consists of a red, blue and yellow chain dog. The fight is conducted in the style of a classic role-playing game.

Uses strong Pixl attacks like Cudge, Boomer or Thudley. Bowser’s fire breath is not recommended because of the fire immunity of the chain dogs.

If you have already received Piccolo, you can put the chain gang to sleep with his music and carry out several safe attacks.

Frost shock – Chapter 7-4

HP: 80 Attack: 4 Vulnerability: Head Recommended Figure: Luigi

Frost shock drops Icicle from the blanket and shoots blocks of ice from his cannon. His icy breath can freeze you temporarily.

Stand with Luigi under his head and use the super jump. Alternatively, take an Icicle or ice block with Thoreau and throw it head against frost shocks.

Hits against his body do not cause reliable damage.

Chapter 8

Super O’Chunks – Chapter 8-1

HP: 100 Attack: 4 Playable Character: Bowser

This fight is fought exclusively with Bowser. Super O’Chunks uses jump, run and fall attacks.

Attack him with Bowser’s fire breath. As soon as he jumps, run under him and turn around immediately after his landing.

Do not stop right in front of him, otherwise he can grab Bowser or hit with an assault.

Mimi – Chapter 8-2

Required Hits: 6 Successful Head Hits Attack: 4 Playable Character: Princess Peach Recommended Pixl: Thoreau

The fight is similar to the first encounter in chapter 2-4. However, since Mario is not available, you cannot avoid crystal waves in the 3D view.

Defend yourself with Princess Peach’s umbrella and record a red crystal with Thoreau. Throw him against Mimi’s head and then jump on her.

After each complete hit, she loses one leg. With each lost leg, Mimi gets faster.

Dimenzio – Chapter 8-3

HP: 80 Attack: 4 Playable Character: Luigi

Luigi must fight without Mario and without Pixl. Dimenzio teleports, creates multiple doubles and creates exploding fields.

If possible, stay in the middle of the arena and wait until Dimenzio appears low above the ground.

Uses normal jumps or Luigi’s super jump. Leave glowing squares immediately as they explode after a short delay.

Count Bleck – Chapter 8-4

HP: 150 Attack: 8 Recommended Figure: Luigi Recommended Pixl: Slim

In the beginning, Count Bleck is invulnerable by the Dark Heart. Attack him several times until the Pure Hearts lift his shield.

Then he teleports, fires dark bullets, races through the arena and creates a large vortex that sucks you in.

Luigi’s super jump causes a lot of damage when the count hovers over him. With Slim, you can avoid many shells and assaults as long as you are still.

In the case of a large black vortex, necessarily runs in the opposite direction.

Super-Dimenzio – Chapter 8-4

HP: 200 attack: 6 defense: 0 on the head, 4 on the body vulnerability: head

Super-Dimenzio is also invulnerable at first. After a cutscene, the Pure Hearts completely restore your HP and remove its shield.

Climb over the floating platforms at head height. Switch to Bowser and use the fire breath directly against the head.

Attacks against arms, legs and body cause significantly less damage because of its defense.

In the chasing target crosses, you switch to Mario and run around the opponent in the 3D view. Slim protects against many tamping and projectile attacks.

Optional bosses

Francis – Rematch in Chapter 8-2

HP: 40 Attack: 1 Playable character: Princess Peach

During Mimi’s Q&A in Chapter 8-2, you can choose Francis as one of your biggest fears. He then appears in one of the following rooms.

The struggle is similar to the encounter in chapter 3-4. Defend yourself with Princess Peach’s umbrella and throw Francis through the arena with Thoreau.

This fight is completely optional and does not bring any special closing reward.

Lohrack – Flipside Pit

Location: Room 100 of the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials Required Hits: 30 Attack: 10 Reward: Dashell

Lohrack is a much stronger variant of fracktail. Jump on his back in 3D view and record a racko with Thoreau.

Ship the racko against Lohrack’s antenna. The antenna must be hit a total of 30 times.

Luigi’s super jump can also reach the antenna. However, the Thoreau method is easier to control.

Schatti – Flopside Pit

Location: Room 100 at the second complete pass Total HP: 400 Reward: Eight Hero and Dark Hero Catch Cards

Schatti fights in four successive forms:

  • Dark Luigi: 100 HP, Attack 10
  • Dark Bowler: 100 HP, Attack 20, Defense 4
  • Dark Princess Peach: 100 HP, Attack 10
  • Dark Mario: 100 HP, Attack 10

Between forms, your HP will not be automatically restored. Therefore, use strong healing objects in time.

Bowser’s fire breath works especially well against Dark Luigi, Dark Princess Peach and Dark Mario. Against Dark Bowlers you should use because of his high Defense Cudge or Boomer.

Final boss – Duel of the 100

Location: Gate 100 in Militis Kingdom HP: 99 Attack: 10 Defense: 4

End Boss is the last and strongest guardian of the 100 goals. He is a golden Big Sammer Guy and uses powerful jump, roll and club attacks.

Stay away and let him walk in Bowser’s fire breath. Switch to the 3D view with Mario as End Boss storms through the arena.

A strength potion shortens the fight considerably. After the win, King Sammer will give you seven rare catch cards from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

Which boss is the strongest?

Super-Dimenzio is the last boss of the main story and owns 200 HP. However, the optional Schatti with its four forms has a total of 400 HP.

Dark Bowler is particularly dangerous, as it has an attack power of 20 and additionally a defense of 4.

Although Lohrack does not have a normal HP indicator, its antenna must be hit 30 times. In addition, Lohrack and his rackos each cause ten damage points.
