The Sixth Heart Pillar
After the end of the fifth chapter, you return to Flipside with the sixth Pure Heart. The Void has now become much larger and threatens more and more worlds. Merlon, meanwhile, has received a message from Nolrem: Another Heart Pillar has been discovered in the outskirts of Flopside.
Before you stop, you should save your progress and fill up your strength points. The following chapter consists largely of a long series of struggles, so some mushroom mixes and other healing objects cannot harm.
Your next destination is Flopside. If you’ve already paid Welderberg 300 coins for its connection, take the easy route: Go down to the second level on the Flipside Tower and use the blue warp pipe that connects Flipside and Flopside directly.
If you have not yet unlocked the shortcut, you have to walk again through the blown city wall on level 1, over the Mirror Hall and then to Flopside.
Upon arrival, you will move to the second level of Flopside and walk to Nolrem’s house. Stand in front of the building and switch to the 3D view with Mario.
Next to the house, you now recognize an open gate and a narrow path that leads out of the normal screen level. Go through the gate and follow the hidden walkway to the left.
At the end of the road is a large yellow block. Switch back to the 2D view as needed and equip Cudge. Smash the block with his hammer.
Under the yellow block, a green warp pipe comes out. Get in and you get to the outskirts of Flopside.
With Dottie under the rocks
Runs first to the right in the new section. Along the way you will encounter several squogs and squigs. You can defeat them with Cudge or Bowser’s fire breath or walk past them in 3D view.
Continue until you reach a sign between several stone blocks. The path does not seem to go any further here.
Switch to the 3D view with Mario. Behind the sign, a narrow path becomes visible, leading out of the normal plane. Follow this path to the left or into the background.
In the end, a low formation of stone blocks blocks your way. Even Mario does not fit under the rocks in the third dimension.
Therefore, equip the Pixl Dottie and activate its ability. The active game piece shrinks to a tiny size and can now run under the stone blocks.
Stay in the 3D view until you have fully reached the other side. Then deactivates Dottie and switches back to the 2D view.
Tip: Switching to the third dimension consumes Mario’s dimensional energy. Remains briefly in 2D after crawling so that the display fully recovers.
Follow the path to the left. Defeat the squog and squig or dodge them. Shortly afterwards you reach a small gap.
You can jump over the narrow stone in the middle or switch to Princess Peach and slide safely to the other side with her umbrella.
The hidden red switch
At the left end of the outskirts stands a large stone with particularly thick, striking outlines. From the front, it looks like an ordinary part of the landscape.
Switch to the 3D view with Mario. From the side you realize that it is actually another big yellow block.
Switch back to 2D, equip Cudge and smash the block with a powerful hammer blow. Below it comes a large red floor switch.
Stand on the switch. Once it has been pushed down completely, the sixth Heart Pillar rises from the floor nearby.
Go to the Pillar and use the sixth Pure Heart you received after defeating King Croacus IV.
On the Flipside Tower, a new dark blue door appears. It leads to Sammer’s Kingdom and thus to the sixth chapter.
Nolrem subsequently appears and reports on another passage from the Light Prognosticon. It is about the so-called duel of the 100: The hero must face a large number of fighters. If he fails, both the Pure Heart and the threatened worlds are lost.
Do not be discouraged by the Warning, but prepare sufficiently for the next chapter.
Opens the menu of important items and uses the retreat tube. This way you can return directly to the Flipside Tower and do not have to walk the entire way through the outskirts and the Hall of Mirrors again.
Save your score and check your inventory. For the coming battles, mushroom mixes, super mushrooms, life mushrooms and items to increase the defense are especially helpful.
Enter the new dark blue door. Chapter 6-1: Sammer’s Kingdom.
