In Super Paper Mario you will find numerous stores and dealers. In addition to ordinary healing and combat items, you can buy rare cooking ingredients, catch cards, treasure maps and permanent improvements.
Prices vary considerably in some cases. An item that is expensive in Flipside can be significantly cheaper in Yold Town or at Flimm. A price comparison is therefore worthwhile especially before the pits of the 100 tests and other major challenges.

This Is How Item Stores Work
In the ordinary item stores you have several functions available:
- Buy: Buy an item from the respective range.
- Sell: Sell items from your inventory.
- Storage: Give items to the common storage.
- Pick up: Take back previously stored items.
- Check Load Points: See your current score.
Up to 32 items can be stored in the common warehouse. An item that you store in Yold Town, for example, can also be picked up later in the store of Flipside or Flopside.
Store Points and Rewards
For every purchase in a participating item store, you will receive a charging point. It does not matter how expensive the purchased item is. A cheap item brings just as much a point as an Ultra mushroom mix.
The points system is common to all participating stores. So you do not have to do the necessary purchases at a single dealer.
| Loading points | Rewards |
|---|---|
| 10 | Cake Mix |
| 20 | Honey |
| 30 | Large egg |
| 50 | Spagetti |
| 70 | Meat |
| 100 | Mega-Koopa clan clan clan fishing card |
| 150 | Slime |
| 200 | Golden Leaf |
| 250 | Ultra mushroom mix |
| 300 | Whacka fishing card |
After the reward for 300 points, the counter is reset. Then the reward series starts again.
Tip: Buy items as cheap as possible for the store points. Fire blasts for seven coins and armored kicks for eight coins in Yold Town are better than expensive healing items.
Howzit‘ Item Store in Flipside
Location: Flipside, 2. Level near the Dimension Storm
Howzit operates the main general item store in Flipside. Its range includes healing, combat and defense items.
| Subject matter | Price | Effects |
|---|---|---|
| Courage Shell | 10 coins | For a short time, halve the damage suffered. |
| Firefight | 20 coins | Attack the visible opponents with fire. |
| Gold Bar | 100 coins | Can later be sold again or used for cooking. |
| Ice Storm | 40 coins | Freeze visible opponents. |
| Life Mushroom ( Paper Mario series) | 100 coins | Revive the character after a defeat automatically with 5 HP. |
| Long-term mix | 30 coins | Gradually restores HP over a period of time. |
| Tank kick | 20 coins | Creates a tank that races through enemy lines after kicking. |
| Mushroom mixture | 30 coins | Heals 10 HP and eliminates poison. |
| Sleepy Sheep | 10 coins | Temporarily puts visible opponents into sleep. |
| Star Medal | 50 coins | Add 1,000 points to your points account immediately. |
The Courage Shell and the Sleepy Sheep are particularly cheap here. For mushroom mix, fire blast, tank kick and life mushroom, however, the store in Yold Town offers significantly better prices.
Getzo’s Item Store in Flopside
Location: Flopside, 2. Level near the tower
Getzo is the Flopstadter counterpart to Howzit. He sells rare and particularly strong items, but sometimes demands high prices.
| Subject matter | Price | Effects |
|---|---|---|
| Block block | 50 coins | Makes the character invulnerable for a short time. |
| Spirit mushroom | 88 coins | Rare item and ingredient for special recipes. |
| Gold Bar × 3 | 300 coins | Equivalent to three gold bars and serves mainly as a monetary reserve. |
| Gold medal | 500 coins | Add 10,000 points to your points account immediately. |
| Starch drink | 70 coins | Double your attack power for a short time. |
| Stopwatch | 50 coins | Stops visible opponents temporarily. |
| Super mushroom mix | 80 coins | Heals 20 HP and eliminates poison. |
| Thunder Rage | 80 coins | Hit all visible opponents with a Lightning. |
| Ultra mushroom mix | 300 coins | Heals 50 HP and eliminates poison. |
| Volt Mushroom | 30 coins | Electrifies the character so that opponents suffer damage when touched. |
The block block and strength potion are especially useful before boss fights. The Ultra mushroom mix is comparatively expensive. Often stronger healing objects can be produced more favorably by cooking.
Howzit‘ Shop in Yold Town

This store is the cheapest outlet in the game for many standard items. It is excellent for creating supplies before larger tasks or collecting store points.

|---|---|
| Sweet chocolate bar | 10 coins |
| Mushroom candy bar | 50 coins |
| Golden candy bar | 100 coins |
The chocolate bars can also be made later by Dillia. During the first visit to space, however, the necessary ingredients are not yet fully available.

The surprise box for three coins is the cheapest regularly offered item. This makes it excellent for quickly collecting charging points.
The original fruit is also needed for several recipes and can only be reliably procured in a few places.
All five Itty Bits stores
Itty Bits are tiny ingredient stores that can only be entered with Dottie. Each shop has a small door, which is much too small for a normally large character.
Shrink with dottie and enter the door. The ingredients offered are especially important for the collection of recipes.

Flimm sells a selection of healing items and cooking ingredients. At its permanent location in Flipside, its prices are about 25 percent below the usual store prices.

| Shooting Star (item) | 120 coins |
| Herbs | 12 coins |
Flimm can also appear randomly in the rest rooms of the two pits of the 100 tests.
- In the flipside pit, it demands approximately the normal store prices.
- In the flopside pit he can demand double the usual prices.
Only buy from him in the flopside pit if you urgently need a healing object. Its prices there are unsuitable for a normal shopping tour.
Flamm – Dealer of the 48 Treasure Maps
Location: Flopside, 1. Basement near the bar The Overthere
Flamm sells a total of 48 Treasure Maps. Its range is fully accessible according to Chapter 5.
Each map shows a section of a dimension already visited or later reachable. Once you have bought the map, you can use Fleep to uncover a hidden treasure at the location shown.
The treasures include:
- Rare catch cards
- Gold bar and gold treasures
- Ultra mushroom mixes
- Power Plus (badge)
- MAX UP Heart
- Other combat and healing objects
All 48 Treasure Maps together cost 3,870 coins. The complete overview with prices and locations of the treasures is on the separate Treasure Maps page.
The two fishing card shops
Catching Card Store in Flipside
Location: Flipside, 1. Level
- Runs on the 1. All the way to the right.
- Blast the cracked wall with Boomer.
- Then switch to the 3D view.
- Follow the hidden passage to the store.
| Offer | Price | Content |
|---|---|---|
| Random packet | 10 coins | Contains a randomly selected catch card. |
| Catch chart | 20 coins | Can capture a visible normal opponent with a certain probability. |
The random card packets are particularly suitable at the beginning of the collection. Later, however, double cards are drawn more and more often.
Catching Card Shop in Flopside
Location: Flopside, 1. Level
This store sells specifically named catch cards. The offer changes regularly, so you should visit the store several times.
| Offer | Price |
|---|---|
| Changing named Catch Cards | about 10 to 500 coins |
| Super Catch Card | 100 coins |
The super catch card has a much higher success rate than the normal catch card. Against final opponents and completely invulnerable opponents, it still does not work.
For a complete collection, you should pay particular attention to cards in the Flopside store that you are missing and are not available as a fixed find or reward.
E-mil and the Flipside Arcade
The hidden arcade is located behind the Café The Underwhere in the 1. Basement of Flipside. Switch to the 3D view in the café and use the golden warp pipe.
E-mil sells flipside chips. A chip costs the equivalent of three coins. Winned or purchased chips can be exchanged for items.
| Premium | Price |
|---|---|
| Surprise box | 5 chips |
| Catch chart | 10 chips |
| Shooting Star (item) | 75 chips |
| Ultra mushroom mix | 150 chips |
| Whacka Bump | 300 chips |
| Susel-Wusel fishing card | 500 chips |
| MAX UP Heart | 2,500 chips |
| Power Plus (badge) | 2,500 chips |
The Susel-Wusel Catch Card is required for the complete card collection. MAX UP Heart and Power Plus increase your values permanently and can be purchased several times.
A detailed explanation of the four mini-games and the Golden Card is on the separate side to the arcade.
Francis to sell Tiptron
Location: Fort Francis in Chapter 3-4
After completing the main story, you can return to Francis. Since Tippi is no longer part of the group after the final, Francis offers you his robotic copy Tiptron.
Tiptron costs 999 coins and thus the maximum possible coin stock.
Tiptron takes on Tippi’s most important skills:
- Examining opponents and people
- Show HP, attack and weaknesses of opponents
- Make invisible blocks and platforms visible
- Uncover hidden doors and other secrets
Tiptron makes sense for 100 percent completion, as after the credits numerous hidden maps, map treasures and puzzles can still be solved.

Make Money by Buying and Selling
Some stores have different buying and selling prices. As a result, certain items can be purchased cheaply, processed and subsequently sold at a profit.
An easy option is the mushroom mix from Yold Town:
- Buy a mushroom mix for 11 coins.
- Let it be processed from Saffron into fried mushrooms.
- Sell the finished dish in an item store.
Ingredients from Flimm can also be worth much more after cooking. However, make sure not to accidentally consume rare ingredients that you still need for the recipe directory.
A particularly productive later method uses Super-Catch Cards and Amazy Dayzee in Chapter 5-2. Catch the opponent and sell his card at the Flopstadter Fangkarteladen. Since the super catch card costs 100 coins and the rare card is worth much more, the coin maximum can be reached quickly.
